The primary inspiration for this design of course came from the jerseys commonly worn by the Cuban players throughout the team's existence. And the addition of 'Base Ball Club' was inspired by photographs of various Negro League team buses (in fact, some current MLB teams still officially use 'baseball' separated into two words).
